Nice to meet you!
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who specializes in the treatment of addictive disorders, trauma (complex, acute, neglect, abuse), codependency and relationship issues, family of origin issues and chronic stress. I utilize a variety of models including Experiential Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Therapies, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing and fully adherent Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). I have served as a family counselor, relapse prevention specialist, residential substance abuse counselor and intervention coordinator. I have focused on improving systems of care through program design, management and administration in local government. I have served as an instructor for undergraduate students in Social Work at Belmont University, teaching courses in Substance Use Disorders and Treatment, Introduction to Social Work, and Trauma-Informed Social Work. I am a current committee member in good standing for the National Association of Social Workers-Tennessee Chapter (NASW-TN). I received my Bachelor’s in Social Work from Belmont University and my Masters of Science in Social Work from the University of Tennessee. When not at work, I enjoy spending time outdoors with my husband and our two dogs Sadie and Bella, practicing yoga, traveling, rock-climbing, attempting Pinterest projects and burning things in my kitchen. To date, I have only poisoned my husband once with my culinary prowess.
