Family therapy can be helpful to resolve family conflict, enhance connection, improve communication, and change destructive or unwanted family patterns.
Family therapy is typically short-term and will
include the coordination of additional resources for each family
member. In family therapy, we seek to improve as a unit rather than
focusing on one family member. However, it is common for one family
member to be the impetus for family therapy. Family therapy is for
whomever you consider to be your family, and not necessarily
blood-relatives. If you come to family therapy, you can probably look
forward to me telling your family member the same thing you’ve been
trying to tell them.
